This blog is basically for me to describe how i feel about crap that goes on, and to try to find my old friends who i haven't seen in ages.

Los Angeles, weird

I made my first ever trip to LA, and i noticed something that i had always sub consciously stereotyped. Westerners are moderatly self-absorbed; the way a lot of anti-American foreigners describe Americans is what i actually saw. I always thought that anti-American Europeans were idiots, because the way they described us was so inaccurate. I take it back, those Europeans must have met someone from LA, and based their entire view of Americans on them. I'm from Atlanta, and its such a different world. People are somewhat courteous on the road. People greet you, they say hello, good evening, good afternoon, sir, ma'am, 'woo it sure is rainin out there huh,' or we even give you accurate directions, or take 10 minutes to find someone who can give you accurate directions. Don't get me wrong, i had a great time while i was in LA, and i met some awesome people. I have this ideology that i follow, based on my beliefs, that if i surround myself with good people good things will mostly happen. Well, i have a friend i met in Texas who i realized was just an all around good person who never really made any effort to do anything bad. So we became friends and we hang out all the time here in Vegas. Well i wanted to go to LA and see a friend i had started dialogue with, she was an old friend from Atlanta who moved back to Cali. He had some friends he wanted to see that he knew out there, so we rode out together, and i got to say for free at his friend's apartment. They showed me around town, and even gave me parking spot in the parking garage. They were not self absorbed, and were well educated, well traveled, and generally good people. So not all Westerners are self-absorbed. I went out to Grand Ave and Deviat, which are two clubs i could get into. I danced just a little. Last thing, the girl i was supposed to see out here, the reason i came out stood me up and told me she didn't wanna see me cause she had forgotten she was mad at me. It's a long story, but i messed around with her sister while i was living with her. I apologized several times over the last year and a half and she told me she wanted to see me while i was out in LA. I don't blame her, maybe, but once again Westerners. That's probably why i had quite a few drinks, very depressing.

gettin er' done

Everyday i try to work one problem out after the other that may face me, and i try to do it slowly. If i can actually go one day succeeding at that i can consider it a good day. I just want that confidence that i use to have, the feeling that no matter what i was to face that i could solve it by any means. Now my epic is restricted to efficient time management, 12:00 lunch, and the 8 hr work day. What a world we choose to live in.

just a thought

this is just a little quote i made up. "you have two choices in life, to have a good attitude or a bad one. You can wake up and have a bad day, but in the end one final question remains; 'how long until lunch?'

doubts to ease

Donald Rumsfeld recently visited China in preparation of President Bush's visit. He wasn't allowed to visit the military headquarters in the western hills, but was allowed to be the first forein visitor to another. He was straightforward about our concern over China's military projection. Also expressed was China's unknown military budget, the POW retrieval program, and the request by China for other Asian nations to give a timetable for American forces to leave Asia. The topics were very good points, and what i like to analyze is the how vague certain questions can be. Both nations wanted to express concerns, and show confidence at the same time.
I was very pleased with China nuclear assurance pledge that in any event , they would not be the first to use nuclear weapons against the US. I only hope that President Bush's visit is much more open to expression than this one in particular. Both sides mistrust one another, and know the same of the other. What is most important, is that both sides respect one another. We've fought together, and against one another. I hope the President's visit is productive.

flood in Vegas

When i first arrived here in Las Vegas, i had to go through a series of classes about the Las Vegas area. One of the things that was discussed was flash flooding in the Vegas area, and of course i'm like you and i thought it was somewhat nonsensical(foolish... i've been trying to use a new word every day). Last Friday the forecast called for rain on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, and so it was, rain. Here in Vegas, all of the drainage systems are above ground; back in Atlanta where i come from it's all below ground. The rain overwhelmed the superior above ground system, and there's flooding all over the valley. I work at the hospital, and there are only 2 ways in or out of the complex; both have flooded over. I'm just so inspired by something i thought so excessively nonsensical, actually affecting the terms of my world. Just another interesting and beautiful aspect of life.

views at the moment

Privatizing SS. Please do it. Private companies are more open to lawsuits than government organizations. Hence, if i don't ever see the money they take away I have a better chance of getting it back. Since Democrats spend so much money on Pork Barrel projects, it seems that SS money is being spent for reasons other than intended; if we privatize SS, the unnecessarily huge Federal Govt. will have less accessibility to my money.

Gay Marriage. No! There are rights and freedoms granted to all citizens in this country, and privacy too. It is my right that when i engage in a marriage, it will be an act meant for a man and a woman to devote their lives to one another. I agree, that it has lost meaning these days, but the right should exist nonetheless. It is unnatural, it should not happen.
It's unnatural, God meant for something else and they chose otherwise. To keep their inherit rights intact, they freely express themselves in public and are rightfully allowed to perform whatever acts they may see fit. Now, they want their union legalized, in other words, legally accepted by society. We tolerate it, but do not have to accept it... especially in a legal sense. I've been accused myself quite often of these things, and the fact that there were accusations but tolerance lets me further know that their culture can thrive without forcing others to accept it. When i marry my wife, I want to know that this is a binding act under the eyes of God, and that we should not tell him that he is gonna have to accept something else.

Welfare. LOL! Welfare does need reform, but in a different sense. There should be screenings to qualify for welfare, so that people who have done acid more than 10 times are no longer qualified for welfare. All future welfare recipients should have at least a GED to qualify, and welfare money should be spent to get them one if they don't. All future recipients should be processed for work or even given training to help the process. There should be federal positions available for these people, and the Federal Govt. should take some welfare money to try to find jobs for some of the recipients. That's "well" fare. Not only would they be getting federal money to help them, they'd be getting a push in the right direction, instead of "here's some money, now go leave the working people alone."

Abortion. Here's where i surprise most of my conservative friends. A woman has the right to choose, until. She has the right to choose in the first trimester, and after that she no longer has the right. I don't like even the fact that she can abort life, but woman have the right to choose and I have to accept it. Women who abort, with the exception of rape and to save their life, should not be able to birth a child for 10 yrs after the abortion; i say this because they chose, but must deal with consequences. It seems strange, yes, but here's how I look at it. You had the right to choose to be foolish and get pregnant, you exercised your right to choose abortion, but now there are consequences for your actions because you've shown that you're unable to act as a parent or be responsible there are preventative consequences to face.

Multilateralism. I am a strict advocate to unilateralism where multilateralism has failed before. WWII. The United States and England have been warning Europe that Hitler's build up is of ominous interpretations. The US, England, and a very clueless Europe "negotiate" with Hitler for years even after he invades the Rhineland. Then WWII happened, because other nations were unwilling to deal with problems in their own part and they spilled over to here. Unilateralism where Multilateralism has failed; Multilateralism where Unilateralism has failed. If everyone takes care of problems in their own places, they will not spill over. Iraq could have been handled better in terms of post-war planning, but i still support the decision.

Regulating Business. Whether small or BIG government has the right to regulate these businesses. The reason is not to control them and tell run them, it's to give them parameters to and limits to work within. Businesses have and always will try to take your money, even their own workers' money, so government has the job of keeping business legit. They also have the right and duty to help businesses to grow, because their tax money comes from the business, its workers, the taxes on the goods they sell, and the taxes on the supplies they buy... it's like an investment.

The Terri Schaivo case. Republicans wanted the feeding tube kept in because we didn't have a right to kill her. We didn't have the right to keep her alive if she would not have a chance at a normal life, i disagree with my party on this one. It was her time.

That's all i got. I hope that peoples have gotten to know how i feel; Republicans don't hate people and eat black babies. We just have different opinions, but we believe in the better good like the Dems-on-craks, i mean Democrats.

The World

The world is in an important phase right now, because the next 10 years will determine the status quo for the next 50 yrs.
