This blog is basically for me to describe how i feel about crap that goes on, and to try to find my old friends who i haven't seen in ages.

hometown blues

i got the blues frieds, my home town team is losing pretty bad this year. Not just losing, they're being whipped up on. They're the team you wanna play when you're doing bad, and as an Atlanta Braves fan i'm hurtin. My heart is sore from watching all of those games my team blew. At least our US World Cup team did good right?

You mean to tell me that all of the hype that they exuded(spell check, dictionary check too) was all just for show? You mean that they went out there talk a bunch of sh#t and then got worked up? Huh, how did that happen?

I hesitate to add to the level of hysteria that is present on, inter alia, the vituperative AM talk shows, etc.

I don't know that much about it, but the Braves' problem would seem to be in the bullpen, by the empirical evidence, to wit, "New pitcher goes in= Break losing streak."

Clearly, the Atlanta Braves are highly important to some people's mental well-being, and I don't mean to disparage that.

But, for instance, if the Braves won every single game some year, would some alcoholic in Atlanta quit drinking??

I think we sometimes need to put it in perspective. At least we don't live in Dog's Dick, Montana, and....DON'T EVEN HAVE PROFESSIONAL BASEBALL TO WATCH.

I mean, having a team whom you can watch getting their asses kicked is better than not watching baseball at all...

As for soccer--well, let's open Pandora's Box.

Last weekend, German fans got in a very violent fight with English fans...AND THE TWO GROUPS DIDN'T EVEN HAVE MOTHERf***ING TEAMS PLAYING EACH OTHER!!!

With apologies to the late "great" Uday Hussein, I will say this because it needs to be said: "If any sport was ever NOT WORTH DYING FOR, it is SOCCER!!"

@ the comments you made in my blog,

What do u mean by 'I'm no hippie, but i do say that there aren't many things more fun than a day at the park with friends'..?

How picnic and hippie related ? I do not understand why talked about hippie.

well, here in the states hippies and being out in nature are known similarities. Hippies love going and being out in nature... it's a phrase that i use, no intention behind it, just a phrase.

@ the comments you made in my blog,

Thanks for the explanation. Because it didn't make any sense to an Indian or to a French for that matter. Here, summer is a season where people are always outside, next to the river Seine or in the parks or besides the lakes and woods ...and picnic evenings, and parties...So "hippie" didn't make any sense to me.

Keep haning in with your Braves. They are winners so be proud of them even if they do poorly.

I am a Cowboys fan so it was awsome to have them win superbowls back to back and then they started to slide down hill. They still haven't recovered and have lost some key players along the way; but never the less, I am still a fan. However I miss the backside shots of Aikman. That was why I really started watching football in the first place.
